Business Development Manager – Construction & Chipping Equipment

Description

Salsco, a Foley Company, designs and manufactures high-performance paving and woodchipper equipment trusted by contractors worldwide. We are seeking a driven and results-oriented Business Development Manager – Construction & Chipping Equipment to expand our presence in the construction market, build strong dealer and end-user relationships, and grow sales across our line of innovative, American-made asphalt and chipping equipment.

This role will focus on increasing market share for our non-golf product portfolio, including asphalt pavers, chipping equipment, curb machines, and material handling solutions. The ideal candidate combines technical product knowledge with strategic sales skills to identify opportunities, close deals, and establish a dealer network across North America.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to grow Salsco’s construction equipment market share in assigned territories.

  • Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities with dealers, rental companies, municipalities, and contractors.

  • Provide product demonstrations and training to customers, dealers, and sales teams.

  • Collaborate with marketing to create targeted campaigns, promotional materials, and event strategies.

  • Maintain regular contact with existing accounts to ensure satisfaction and identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling.

  • Gather and relay market intelligence on competitor activity, pricing trends, and customer needs to inform product and sales strategy.

  • Represent Salsco at trade shows, industry events, and dealer meetings.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent industry experience).

  • 5+ years of sales or business development experience in the construction equipment or heavy machinery industry.

  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.

  • Strong understanding of the construction equipment market, including dealer and rental channels.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.

  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Able to travel up to 75% within the assigned territory.
